Growing PSBT support rocks... Cobo Vault now offers Bitcoin Only Firmware, so no vendor supplied software required. (Works with Electrum, Wasabi, Blue Wallet)... No mirco-SD juggling for small transactions either :) ... Multi-Sig coming next firmware update too... Cmon Ledger/Trezor...

I’ve been storing several different cryptos on applications like Electrum, Exodus and Trust Wallet. I’ve been thinking about going to a device like the Ledger Nano S for more security, but is it really that much more secure than especially Electrum? (x-post from /r/Bitcoin)

I made a tutorial for setting up multisig using Unchained Capital's open source Caravan alongside a few Ledger devices. TLDW: More user friendly than doing the same Electrum, less versatility with wallet choices for now. Beware user error, connect node for extra privacy. (x-post from /r/Bitcoin)

What derivation path do I use to access sub accounts on the Ledger Chrome extension Bitcoin wallet using Electrum?

I'm using Ledger's Bitcoin wallet app (Chrome extension) and would like to access my funds through Electrum. I was able to get to my main account by selecting the derivation path for "Native Segwit" but I want to access to my sub accounts on Ledger. How do you do this?

Best method of storing a large amount of bitcoin - Using several hardware wallets and splitting up your amount or using your different hardware wallets (trezor, ledger, etc.) in a multisig wallet with electrum?

What do you think the safer option is for storing a larger amount of coins?
Splitting up your coins in different hd walletswould obviously still leave you open to a small chance of manufacturer vunerability but in that case you would still have coins left with the other manufactuer that wasn't exposed.
Would using a multisig setup with different hardware wallets in electrum be better? In this instance both hd wallets would have tobe compromised. Is there possibliy a weakness in having to trust electrum?
Would what you pick in a hardware wallet storage setup?

Can't export Bitcoin wallet from Ledger Live to Electrum.

In Ledger Live, at Edit Account -> Advanced Logs, I see it has derivation path 49'/0'/1'/0/1.
But when I put m/49'/0'/0' or m/49'/0'/1' in Electrum, it doesn't show the last transaction.

Any idea what's up?

I run my Ledger with my own Bitcoin full node and Electrum wallet + Electrum Personal Server. Can someone give me an answer to my question related to a security of such a setup?

Hi
for a better security I decided to use my Ledger Nano with my Bitcoin full node. Obviously to have this working I need to use a third party wallet- Electrum together with Electrum Personal Server.
However one thing crossed my mind. In case I would be scammed in the future and downloaded a malicious Electrum wallet could the attacker get my private key(s) from the Ledger? Of course I would always open the wallet only by my Ledger but I’m wondering what is possible to get from the Ledger after I unlock it. If the malicious version of Electrum wallet would be written to fetch private keys from the device can it get them? Or this is never possible as Ledger never allows to give private keys no matter if applications are asking for it?

Does Chrome's Ledger wallet application use a remote server (like electrum) of the Ledger company, or is the Chrome wallet app an independent thin client that connects directly to the Bitcoin network and does not rely on Ledger company's servers?
