Bored? Looking for something to do? Start with this list of things to do in the Sacramento area.

(Credit for the below list has to be given to u/BurritoFueled, who created the original list in 2014 and updated it a year later. Almost two-thirds of the items below are still from that original list. All I’ve done with the list is revive it a little bit by updating dead links and making little tweaks when necessary. Also, thanks to those that submitted new additions to the list last week. Over a third of the below items are new and a lot of the original items have had newer information added onto them.)
People are always looking for something to do around here. Maybe you’re a transplant, unaware of what this area has to offer, or maybe you’re a lifelong resident, tired of the same old thing. Well friend, if you fall into the latter category, do not despair. There’s actually plenty of things to do in the Sacramento area – things of interest to almost any lifestyle, personality, or budget.
So, whether you’re an athlete, geek, eccentric, hipster, weirdo, sexual deviant or just a normal person looking for a new activity, below is a list of activities for you to try. Please note that it includes only activities that take place at least a few times a year – no one-off events or festivals here.
Enjoy this list. If you have any suggestions of your own to add, comment below in this thread. I'll try to keep this as up to date as possible.
Away we go.
UPDATED 10-6-20
(Note: Due to the current pandemic, some of these activities may be curtailed or not offered at all.)

Having a lot of trouble making a purchase

Hello redditers! Like many people, I've been denied my normal pleasures for the foreseeable future. Specifically, I mean going to my local card room and playing some poker. So, I checked out a few online poker sites, and decided to try it out. All I had to do was buy a little Bitcoin and transfer it over to the site that I chose, and I would be playing cards in no time!
Easy? I actually thought so. But then, depression set in.
I've tried three different exchanges so far, and I've failed at each one. Here's the breakdown of my attempts so far:
Coinbase: I successfully linked three different payments methods (debit card, checking account, savings account), and I verified my account by uploading pictures of my driver's license. I then made several attempts using each payment method to buy $500 worth of Bitcoin, and every single time I received the message "Transaction denied due to a suspicious activity warning". I e-mailed their support, and was told "For security reasons, we cannot tell you why your transaction was cancelled.", and the ticket was closed. I called my bank thinking it was a fraud protection issue, but they told me that it was Coinbase themselves that were cancelling the sale.
X-coins: I can't get past the verification phase. I've uploaded pictures of my driver's license, as well as a selfie, and continue to get denied verification. But to be honest, they are much more expensive than the other two sites I tried ($25 transaction fee versus $2 on both Coinbase and Gemini). I've e-mailed their support and am waiting to hear back.
Gemini: Now on this site, I actually managed to purchase $500 worth of Bitcoin, although it's been 30 hours and the money remains in my bank account. I went to move the Coin to my wallet so that I could transfer it to the poker site, but in order to do that I had to verify my account first with pictures of my driver's license. I did that, and for 24 hours I was waiting for that process to complete. Then I got a notification saying that my account had been frozen and to contact support. I've done that, and I'm waiting to hear something.
Now the Gemini one is particularly frustrating, because I technically made a purchase (even though, as I mentioned, the money has yet to be removed from my bank account), and literally within five minutes of making the purchase the price of Bitcoin took a dive. Within the 30 hours that I have been waiting to get verification, my purchase has lost $40 of it's value. I had intended to move the Bitcoin to the poker site immediately, because I knew that the value fluctuated.
So after three days, I have zero Bitcoin that I can use to play poker with, and a whole lot of frustration at the entire experience. If anyone has some words of wisdom for me, I would appreciate them.

HODLing since 2013. Sold 1/3rd of BTC today at $19.5k. Don't be afraid to take gains. Thoughts and ramblings inside.

Throwaway account for obvious reasons. I am posting this for others who may be debating about what to do with their BTC gains.
First heard about Bitcoin in 2013. Ordered $8k worth of computer parts and took over the extra power in my house and built milk crate mining rigs. Kept them running, even as the price fell... As cards failed I didn't replace them. Long story short, I end up with ~80 BTC.
During the "down years" before things really picked up steam I played around mining some other things, so I have around 65 Litecoin and 70 Ethereum. I messed around and spent some BTC just because I could, a couple BTC on online pokecasino sites to see how it worked... And that ill fated 1 BTC porn video from a Redditor who is probably laughing her way to retirement by now.... ;)
Earlier this month I became a cryptomillionaire on December 10th. That was an awesome achievement. Luckily for me I've been involved in technology so I was already a millionaire in the traditional sense. Not anything too crazy... 4M net worth or so, but used to dealing with money and investments. My advice to others is based on 30 years in technology and being a high net worth individual since the early 2000's.
Today I passed 1.5M in crypto wealth and I cashed out a third of my holdings to pay off my mortgage. I did this for multiple reasons:
  1. I think we are in a speculative bubble. I believe in crypto and blockchain technology. It is going to change the world. But the utility is not fully there yet. The current price, in my opinion, is overinflated relative to what these things are really doing in the world. I think there will be a correction but eventually things will really take off, similar to the dot com bubble. Having worked in technology since 1997 this is just my opinion based on my gut reaction to everything going on.
  2. Traditional banking needs reformed/to die. Why should a big bank get to collect thousands in interest from me every year? I view selling some of my crypto and clearing a major debt as not only a personal gain but a vote against the system. I would encourage anyone who can clear debt against existing fiat to do so. I would rather put $1k back into crypto a month than be giving $1k in interest back to the banks.
  3. You are not investing if you are not ever willing to take gains, you are just gambling. I don't think anyone should ever sell 100% of their crypto, but you need to be able to part with some of your BTC at the time and choosing that makes the most sense for you and your goals.
As part of adjusting my crypto portfolio for the future today, I also converted all my Bitcoin Cash to BTC. I very much do not like what is coming out of the mouths of that group, and I believe there should only be one "Bitcoin." I am appreciative of the free money that landed in my lap from that fork, but too many options is going to confuse the general public. I encourage everyone to do the same.
As I write this, I am still a cryptomillionaire and am looking forward to the future. But I have future goals in mind where I may clear other debts or continue to diversify. Unless you have no debts at all and no plans in your life I think HODLing until death is a pretty silly idea. Everyone should have some goals in mind with any financial venture. Just make sure they are big enough checkboxes that you won't keep looking back.
EDIT: Since many people have asked: I used Gemini to do the sale. I also have a Coinbase account, but the fees are much higher for a large sale. Yes, you can have your limits raised at both places to be able to do larger sale quantities and bank transfers.
EDIT2: Just to clarify, me mentioning my net worth and background is not to brag (to be honest, many of the people I know in the industry are worth 10X me because they took more risks) than wanting other people to know that I consider myself a successful and educated investor. When someone who has no experience is handed 1M they lose it (look at lottery winners). I want people to NOT lose, so I am using my knowledge to make sure others without that think carefully and realize that taking some gains is not a bad thing. HODL is great and all, but you need to be smart about what you own, crypto or otherwise. I apologize to anyone if it comes off as grandstanding, but you shouldn't get emotional about money.

Bit Paradise: Providing More Options For Online Casino Games

The online gaming industry is a huge potential that is yet untapped. The gaming industry is expected to grow from $137.9 billion in 2018 to $180.1 billion in 2021. But with all the promises, not all has been put in place to harness the potentials of the industry.

Several factors militate against the speedy growth of the industry. Some of the problems include poor winning returns, lack of dedicated exchange system, and a host of others. What this implies is that, though there are huge potentials, the rate of growth is not as fast as it should be.

Bit Paradise provides the right solutions

While the above problems have been identified as the problems plaguing the online gaming business, Bit Paradise has gone ahead of others to proffer the right solutions to the problems. Its vision is to make gaming easier, more enjoyable and profitable to both the gamers and the providers. This simply means that while the gamers play their online casinos and other games with relish and earn some profits, the site owners should also be able to earn some profits to remain in business.

What is Bit Paradise (BPD)?

Bit Paradise (BPD) is a new, innovative form of cryptographic exchange station which runs on game meta.
BPD’s highest selling point is its compensation arrangement. Apart from having a 1 + 1 profit-sharing trading mining system, BPD has a stable payout and buyback system. Additionally, it mitigates value decline through its safety device, thereby building a complete BPD’s ecosystem that is modern and safe.

BPD offers wide range of gaming options

Bit Paradise does not only provide a gaming platform but ensures that its users have several options to choose from when it comes to playing games online. BPD is set to commence with dicing game and thereafter add other games such as Go-top, Soccer pk, Blackjack, Lotto, Baccarat, Craps, Horse Racing, and Slot. As time goes by, it would expand to accommodate games such as 7 poker.

BET Coin

BET Coin is the official coin for placing bets or playing games on the Bit Paradise platform. It has the same intrinsic value as the Bitcoin (BTC) and one can only get BET points upon depositing BTC. Once you deposit BTC you get 2.5% of BET point from what you deposit.

BET coin would be highly regulated to ensure that only a few coins shall be in circulation in order to mitigate volatility. The coin derives several benefits from the profit sharing from the available games such as Roulettes, Slot, and Craps. The coin will be listed on exchanges as soon as possible to provide for an open market.

Mining and Payouts of BET

The BET Coin has an average daily mining capacity of 1.4 million units. The level of contribution during trade on the exchange determines the amount that is mined.

The payout accruable to players is 60% of Transactions fees Rewards + 20% of Buyback + 20% of Winning returns.
30% of Winning returns from Dice game + 20% of BET holder Rewards, 30% of Buyback of Winning returns
20% of winning returns from dice game when holding BET

BPD’s Token Sale

BPD will be issuing its token to the public soon, with a total of 2 billion units expected to be made available. The sharing formula for the tokens include
50% (1 billion units) will be for trading mining.
20% (400 million units) will be for the Foundation Team. 33% of the token will be released from 1 year.
12.5% (250 million units) will be for Marketing.
10% (200 million units) will available to the public during token sale
5% (100 million units) is reserved for the Partners and Advisers
1.5% (0.3 billion units) is reserved for Referral.
1% (0.2 billion units) is for Bounty.
Price for the token during presale is $0.02 (All tokens that are unsold and unused would be discarded in the future).
The average amount of tokens to be mined daily is 93,000 units.

BPD’s plan for the future

Bit Paradise was founded in Singapore in 2018 and has built a safe and complete ecosystem that enables online gamers to make profit via casino meta and ensures that the token does not easily lose its value.

BPD’s biggest dream is to dominate the global exchange market through its innovative approach. BPD has plans to expand into the South American markets as well as the Latin America including Argentina, which has already commenced the use of cryptocurrency for bank remittances. The next destination would be China, Korea and Southeast Asia. Furthermore, BPD hopes to make inroads into eight countries by the second half of 2019.

BPD looks promising in its unique winning sharing formula and other compensation plans. But how it is able to distort the market cannot be fully determined until it begins to unveil its plans and strategies.

State of the Shibe, December 2017 Edition

Dear Shibes,
Such Flush here looking back on another year with Poker Shibes and looking ahead to where we are going!
You may recall my last official update State of the Shibe, March 2017 Edition.
It is my duty to apologize in that I failed to deliver on the promise of more regular updates throughout the year. I had anticipated at least 1 or 2 more of these State of the Shibe posts this year. Historically, we've only done 1-2 of these a year, but I am committed to producing at least 4 State of the Shibe posts in 2018. That's my New Year's Resolution for 2018. What's yours?
It is also my duty to report on the overall state of things that were looking good last time:
By the Numbers, since the last update:
In the last year we have completed the following things you might not necessarily be aware of:
The last one is a big deal and is one of the major reasons for this posting.
For at least the last 6 months we have been tracking all tournament results and hand results live, which old Shibes will remember is a huge change from our previous backend software. With the old software we were only able to run updates for rewards at best every 24 hours. Unfortunately, we were unable to use the old backend software with the new infrastructure, so rewards, according to the frontend website, have not been updated in about 9 months either. Today, we are announcing that the new backend software is officially ready for production integration and we are releasing the first integrations of the frontend website with the new backend this week.
What this means for you, the valued PokerShibes player who has participated somehow in the last year:
Merry Christmas (belated) and Happy New Year!
In 2018 you can expect to see many changes in the poker room here at PokerShibes, including, but not limited to:
With Excitement,
Such Flush

"XBox, Stop"

"X-Box, Stop"
I wouldn't call myself a gamer. I don't play too many games, or maybe I should say I don't like many games. I play a lot, but because of the sheer quantity I need to filter through, I must be frugal. I've been playing the same old Counter-Strike matches for the past ten years. That being said, I don't get many new games, and about 2 years ago I purchased my first XBox 360 from Craigslist. There was nothing strange about it, no ominous air of death or any sort of shady dealings. I met a broke kid and didn't even haggle with him. He was polite and the whole thing took place pretty quickly on his front porch. He lived in a pretty nice part of town, but probably didn't get hand-outs from his folks. It felt like a pretty standard trade, exactly the way you would want it to be.
There was only one slight problem. The controller he gave me didn't work. I still got a pretty good deal on the console, but had to get a new one. I was in luck and got a pretty good price on a used one. (There's me being frugal again...) Since I saved a few bucks, I picked up a headset and a 3 month subscription to Xbox Live. Luckily, they were both also on sale! When I got the console, he included a copy of Modern Warfare 3, so I wanted to play that online. I was pretty excited to get my game on after unlocking the "Thrifty" achievement.
I had only tried to turn the console on twice before I realized the controller was broken, so there wasn't much I could do without a new one. There were 2 profiles left on there, so I did I system restore or format or whatever that is called. Having erased everything, I created a new profile and made an avatar that looked like me. I didn't put much effort into it, though. After a few frustrating minutes of network configuration, I punched in the code on the prepaid card I purchased and was online for the first time. Finally, I was connected to a world of "current" gamers and excited to try the latest shooter!
I wasn't up-to-date with modern games, but apparently my skills were. In Call of Duty, I was getting first place in nearly every match I played. It almost felt like I was cheating. Was I doing something different that no one had thought of? I started uploading videos and posting on forums. Some people would message me and invite me to join their "clan" and I felt like a mini-celebrity. One group even asked me "if it would be cool to use my strategy?" After two months, I had over 300 new "friends" just because I was good at a video game.
It started to eat into my personal time as I turned down plans to game. I broke up with my girlfriend. I considered quitting my job and took a serious cutback on hours. To account for the loss in income, I monetizied my videos and had a surprisingly large influx in cashflow. I quit my job. I made more money by playing video games than I would make in any job my resume could land. In less than three months of owning an Xbox and playing this game, I had become a highly respected CoD player and a new game in the franchise was about to come out. Black Ops 2 was hitting stores in one week and I had the potential to rise up the leaderboards if I jumped on it the day it came out.
I remember waiting in line at midnight. I remember running out of the mall, not starting the car, but certainly ripping the shrinkwrap with my teeth while driving home. The smell of the new disc was heavenly. I sped and should have been ticketed, but managed to pop that disc in my tray less than 15 minutes after the time printed on the receipt. There was a problem. My Gold subscription was up. No big deal. I punched in my debit card numbers and was online in a few minutes.
After 4 days and 12 hours of total sleep, I had made it to the top 50 on the player leaderboard for Black Ops 2. I needed some rest and took a day off from playing. This was the first time I really fiddled around with the Xbox. I had been playing Call of Duty non-stop since I discovered my skillset was perfect for that game. I signed up for Netflix, watched some shows, then connected to my Facebook. I didn't really share my successful game-related YouTube channel with my friends, and a few people commented on the status update that said I linked to Xbox.
After watching a movie, I checked Facebook again via XBox and saw I had 30+ friend requests. Someone had recognized me from the "linked to Xbox update" and now my personal Facebook was widely known to my YouTube channel. This was slightly annoying, so I went private. The problem wasn't really solved. I still got a lot of requests, so I made a Facebook profile for the YouTube page. After a few weeks and hitting the #10 spot on the Black Ops 2 leaderboards, I had more friends on that profile than my personal one that I've had for as many years...
It was only a short matter of time before I was invited to a tournament and before long, I was on a cross-country flight to play for $10000 in Los Angeles. I was set to play in front of a crowd. People cheered when I walked to my station. I had been playing the damn game for 6 months of my life and I was somehow famous. An article released before the tournament called me a prodigy and titled the article something like "why I'll win."
Then we started. And I failed. Miserably. I played the worst I ever had. Total loser, I placed dead last by a long shot. "I choked under pressure," they said in video commentaries. As quickly as I had risen to e-success, it was all gone. The fame. The fans. The viewers. The money. I didn't change anything about the way I released videos or played, but no one wanted to watch them anymore. I even ranked up to #7 on the leaderboards, but it didn't matter. The dream was over.
I needed to get back to reality. I needed to get a new job and re-boot my life. I did so pretty quickly, and just like that, my short-lived life as a celebrity gamer was over. My new job was in the same field as my old, but at an office with a lot of younger folks. They would talk about Call of Duty and I wouldn't say a word. Little did they know, they had probably watched some of my videos before - unbeknownst one of the game's best players worked in an office down the hall. Or was I?
The console that had brought me fame sat beneath my giant TV that I purchased with the ad money from Youtube gathering dust. I would occasionally use it for Netflix, but for the most part, I was done. I wasn't a gamer anymore. It was fun, but it was over. I even used a different account for Netflix so my old "friends" wouldn't message me and ask to play. Frankly, I never recovered from the failure at the tournament.
Despite not playing anymore, it always bothered me how the huge disappointment in the tournament occurred. I didn't change my strategies for the tournament at all. In some ways, playing in the tournament felt unnatural. It wasn't the same as playing at home. Perhaps that's just it, I thought. I'm sure some gamers who smoke would do better at a tourney if they had a cigarette in their mouth. Despite this, I still should have done alright - but I didn't. I was #7 in the world but #40 in a tournament of forty people.
Time went on as I led my normal life, but then, on November 22 of last year, things changed. It was a Friday, which I had off, and slept in to the sound of someone at my door. It was FedEx with a large package. I signed and accepted because sure why not. I was suspicious, but opened it to find a brand new XBox One and a copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts. It was from Amazon. I didn't order it.
I checked all of my bank statements, my Paypal, my Amazon account and anything I could think would have proof of this purchase. Maybe I pre-ordered during my gaming fame? Nope. I couldn't find it anywhere. I'm not sure why I thought it would explain anything, but I booted up the 360 and logged into my former XBox Live account. There were a bunch of friend requests and messages from fans, but nothing seemed out of place. Then I received a system message. It asked me if I would like to link my account to my XBox One. This was a little strange, as I hadn't unboxed the thing yet.
I powered down and set up the XBox One. I logged into my account. It asked me a similar message to the one I saw on 360, but seeing it here made more sense. I had my profile available on the new console and thought I would check out the new game. After all, it was Friday, I had nothing to do. My Call of Duty Elite profile carried over some stats from the two other games I played, but it looked a little suspicious. These results said I was the #4 player in the world for Black Ops 2. How could I have gone up the ladder while not playing for months?
I checked my YouTube channel. It was full of new videos I didn't post, but in the vain of ones I would. Was someone using my account and keeping up with my gameplay? Even the gamertag in the videos was mine. It was my account. Was I Jekyll and Hyde? Was something broken in my brain? Did the loss of that tournament cause me to divide my own life in two different worlds? No. I am sane. This is absurd.
Someone was using my XBox Live account and recording videos to my YouTube as if they were me. On top of that craziness, my bank account routing information had been changed. I was still getting a cut from ad revenue, but not nearly what I should have been. Some of the new videos have more views than my best ones. Not only did they take my money, they made it seem as if I was still getting some - just not much.
The passwords were still the same, but my e-mail was no longer associated with either account. I hadn't even noticed that I wasn't getting billed for XBox live. I guess I had thought the service lapsed. However, my account was active and paid in full for the next 9 months. I contacted YouTube to discuss what happened and they suggested I find a lawyer. This whole situation was not what I expected to get myself into after starting the day with a random new game console showing up at my door for free. I guess it wasn't free.
After some investigation, I found that the ad revenue from the videos I didn't know about was put into a savings account that I also didn't know about. It was my own account, associated with the checking account I normally use. I never set it up, but it's in my name at my bank. It has more money in it than I have ever seen or made in my entire life. Every day, there are deposits for thousands, sometimes over ten thousand dollars.
The amounts in no way match the profit from YouTube. That's maybe one or two percent. At this point, I had no idea where the rest was coming from. During my game fame, I alienated a lot of my close friends and didn't have anyone to really confide in. This was all hitting me pretty hard. I was so confused. I broke down and started crying.
Then the XBox One made a noise. It was a faint beep, but the tone was so consoling. It made me stop crying and I didn't know why. Nothing at all was making sense. I looked at the Kinect sitting in front of my TV and said to it, "XBox, what is going on?" It didn't do anything. Part of my was actually convinced it would answer. Suddenly, a new message notification appeared on screen. I checked to find a message with the sender field blank. It was a list of 50+ bank accounts and their web login credentials.
I checked them and they seemed to match up with the amounts in my newly discovered savings, but I still had no idea where the money was coming from. I turned my head to look at the Kinect. "XBox, where is all this money coming from?" Again, nothing happened, but after a few moments I received another similar message. This was a listing of other websites and login credentials. The list included brokerage websites, bitcoin wallets, online casinos, poker sites, and even adult webcams.
I logged into the accounts to see even more unaccounted for amounts in each of the respective accounts, including six-figure balance in one of the casinos. I felt like any minute the police were going to kick down my door and I still wouldn't understand how. Yet again, I turned to Kinect. "XBox, how?" I asked hesitantly. There was another brief pause and another new message. I didn't understand this one, though. It was garbled machine code and looked like the results of opening an image with a text editor.
Going through the list of websites again, I found one that was certainly the most strange. It was an accountancy firm with the same last name as me. I logged in to that account and the website greeted me as the company's CEO. The inbox and outbox were both full of messages running the company. They were all signed with my name.
I called the number that was listed in the site's "About Us" section to reach a soft-spoken, young secretary. I told her I was a doctor, needing to speak to the CEO about his mother. She asked his mother's name and I told her my mother's name. She told me to wait a moment and put me on hold. An incoming call notice sounded on my phone, but I ignored it. She returned to tell me he was unavailable and asked if I wanted to leave a message. I told her it was urgent and she read me his cell phone number. Rather, she read me my cell phone number. I thanked her and hung up.
At this point, I was convinced that I was crazy. I looked at the Kinect as I had done before for answers, saying "XBox, am I crazy?" After the usual wait, a message popped up as the others had, only saying "No." Then what was it? Where was this secret life coming from? Who was doing this? Had this computer taken on a life of its own? It's the only thing that made sense. Grasping at my hair now, struggling for sanity, I looked into the Kinect like I was begging for mercy to whisper "Xbox, stop."
None of those accounts or passwords work anymore, and all of the videos I didn't upload on my YouTube channel are gone. The money is no longer in my savings account and the bank tells me I never had one. I think I could have been rich, but I chose and preferred to be sane. I sold that XBox One from my front porch just how I bought the first one. I hope one of you frugal gamers out there got a good deal. It was like new, and only used for one day...

/r/BeerMoney FAQ

/BeerMoney FAQ
Welcome to /BeerMoney, we'll try to answer common questions among our posters to avoid filling the subreddit with re-posts!
-What are some good sites to start with?/What sites can I use to make "x" amount?
Mechanical Turk: Probably the most widely suggested site here because the payout is based off of how much time you put into it and it can be withdrawn directly to a bank account. Also check out /HitsWorthTurkingFor if you're starting with MTurk.
SwagBucks: The most widely used PTC (Pay to Click) site on the sub, if you're not familiar with them, these sites have different activites (surveys, polls, videos) that you can do/watch, to earn "SwagBucks" which then can be redeemed in their store for prizes and gift cards. The most codt efficient item to redeem from these sites is usually a $5 amazon gift card.
Jebbit: A fairly new site where you answer a few questions about a webpage, called a "campaign". You can earn points and get streaks for answering questions correclty. This site pays out in cash to WePay, or you can use your earning in the Jebbit Store.
TopLine: This is generally the beginner set it and forget it site. It's a chrome extension that replaces ads with their own sponsored ads and pays you $1 per 1,000 pages with topline compatible ads.
-Can I start a referral train?
Referral trains are fine to start in the comments section of a post, but not on a new post. If you submit a new post about a website that is imformative, feel free to put your referral link in the post as well, as long as the sole reason of the post isn't to get referrals.
-What I do when tax time comes around?
Any website where you have over $600 of earnings from, should be included on you taxes in the form of a 1099. On sites like MTurk where it's very possible to earn more than $600 a year, techinically the money must be all from one requester for the requester to send you a 1099, but this is a bit of a gray area. I would love for someone who knows more about taxes to elaborate on this.
-How can I earn the most money?
Mechanical Turk: Has probably the highest potential earning power, along with InfoArmy, until the removal of the $20 bonus.
-Can I use BlueStacks with beermoney apps such as SBTV or AppTrailers?
Swagbucks will ban bluestacks users, but as for AppTrailers, you can use the app on bluestacks, but be wary of using things like auto-clickers, because they might get your account suspened, and in AppTrailers world, you might as well be banned.
-How do I get more referrals?
Datsoup - a referral randomizer, enter your ref codes and viola.

The Libertarian Society that Was.

For one week every year in the town of Lancaster, New Hampshire, something truly remarkable happens. Libertarians of all stripes and shades travel from around the world, from Mexico to Canada, from Australia to Great Britain, and create the society that they want to see. It is called the Porcupine Freedom Festival, or Porcfest for short.
There are no cops, there are no rulers, and the only laws that exist are the laws that exist between men as they deal with each other as equals. Gadsden flags ("Don't Tread on Me") and Market Anarchist flags (gold and black bisected) were waved instead of the usual Red White and Blue. Almost one in every three men had a sidearm strapped to their legs. People were excited about Bitcoin as a currency, and hopeful for the future.
I arrived on Wednesday night at around 11:30, and I did not have a campsite. I drove up and parked along the side of a path, and walked down a hill where I saw a large collection of party-goers hanging out in the rain beside a campfire. I walked down and met up with a friend of mine from London, named Harold. He stared at me for a second before drunkenly hugging me and making sure that I was provided with a beer. He then introduced me to his group of friends.
"This is Edward Snowden, everybody," he declared to those he was talking with. They laughed. I suppose I do bear some resemblance to the famed whistleblower, but I doubt my accomplishments will hold much light in comparison. Still, it wasn't the worst nickname I have been given.
Harold then led me to Jonathon, who is a man from French-Canada. Both of them had visited me at my house earlier in the week
I had loaned Harold one of my tents earlier in the week when he, along with Jonathon, had visited my house on their way to New Hampshire. They were being given rides by our friend Phillip, who was attending with his wife and his two daughters. While Phillip had opted for a hotel, they had opted for a campsite.
The tent that I had loaned him was apparently flooded. As such, Harold asked if he could sleep in my car. Jonathon, on the other hand, had brought his own setup, and it was very dry, and didn't need to use my vehicle for such things. I consented, and we decided to see if any food was available this late at night.
We found a vendor in a tent selling ice-cream. They accepted Bitcoin. I decided to try their ice cream, which they assured was made without the permission or license of the state. It was delicious and did not kill me.
We then wandered by to the fire with our ice cream. There was a man in nothing but a loincloth sitting on a picnic table, and he seemed to be selling moonshine. There were a few young men enjoying some cannibis. There was no more beer. I decided to go to bed.
The next morning, I met a man and a woman who were sitting on top of a large boulder that I'd apparently parked next to. They were watching the sunset, and I was told that if you sat on that rock, you'd have an amazing view. I took their word for it before I took a waddle around the campsite. It amazed me the sheer number of men walking around with all manner of firearms. The most common were hip-holstered openly carried pistols, but there were also several men wielding shotguns and semi-automatic (assumedly) sporting rifles. There was also a tent that I found with a class on constructing an AR-15. The class was 700 dollars. You kept the AR-15 you had built when the class was over.
The amount of vendors that were operating was also pretty interesting. There were hot-dog vendors, a bacon-pancake vendor, vegan and paleo specific foods, raw honey, and even entire bars and saloons with a wide assortment of strange spirits.
Other businesses included gold and silver trade, a Bitcoin ATM, blueprints for automatic weapons, unlicensed tattoo parlors, unlicensed casinos, and even a strip-club called the Thunderdome (I would give you the scoop on the happenings in there, but I abstained; those who did not inform me that I did not miss out on much).
We went on a beer run and headed away from the campsite past another campsite (one with a Christmas theme) and into the town of Jefferson. Even though it was less than 5 miles away from the campsite, few here seemed to know what Porcfest was. When told that Libertarians really liked New Hampshire, one local resident replied, "Why? There's nothing here."
Their pizza was good, their cigarettes (what Jonathon called "Darts") were cheap, and their alcohol was about what you'd expect at a gas station.
I spent that day talking with Jonathon, the Canadian man who I loaned my bed eariler in the week. He was 19 years old, and had been all over the world. He was well-travelled, and had spent his adult life so far travelling the world. He paid for this with undefined Bitcoin-related riches, no doubt an early investor.
Harold was a man in London who is an organizer for a Libertarian club and also heads the Anarcho-Capitalist Steam group, with over 800 members.
We did Karaoke that night, and though most of the singers were about what you expect at a Karaoke event (with me butchering Tainted Love by Soft Cell), Phillip from Ohio blew the crowds away with his rendition of Frank Sinatra's hit My Way, which spoke to the hearts of the freedom-loving crowd. Phillip was classically trained and had attended 4 years of voice school, and I sympathized with the act that followed his. The event was not a contest, but he won it anyway.
On Friday morning, I woke up early with Jonathon and Harold and we attended a safety brief for the range. A local gun range had agreed to allow us to shoot on their range, and an NRA instructor gave the classic safety rules to everyone, just in case they weren't aware of them previously. We then drove in a caravan over to the range, and were treated to a wide selection of highly powerful automatic weapons. For 25 dollars, you could get a 30 round magazine of 5.56 or 7.62 and safely fire it at a paper target through an M16 or an AK-47. I decided to skip that and fire a .50 caliber Desert Eagle.
It takes a lot to impress me when it comes to firearms, I've fired my fair share of fully-automatic weapons when I was in the infantry. From Ma Deuces to Saws, I've fired a lot of weapons. The Desert Eagle was, by far, the most absurdly over-powered. Needless to say, I'd like to own one.
.22 ammunition was free to shoot, so after firing the Deagle as it's called in the Counter Strike community, I went up and went plinking with a variety of .22 caliber rifles and pistols while my friends went crazy with M16s.
A gay dance party was held on Thursday night at the camp-site. I was told by one persona attending that it was easy to tell the gay people from the straight people there.
"The gay people are dressed normally," I was told.
I bought a cookie from a pair of sisters who were no older than 6 years. It was delicious, but 1 dollar for a cookie is a bit expensive in retrospect. Who can say no to kids selling cookies? Certainly not many of the people there. Even those who ate Paleo would taste a cookie if a 6 year old tried to sell it to them.
The Paleo diet is very interesting, as many of the people at this event would eat only paleo food. The diet of low-grain and primitive blueprints doesn't, on the surface, have anything in common with Libertarian philosophy or politics, so why was it that they were in such showing at the event? I may never know. Another oddity was the amount of Libertarians with beards. I do not refer to your typical goatee, but I instead talk of fully-blown lumberjack beards. Perhaps it's the fashion in New Hampshire, it'd certainly be in keeping with their reputation.
I took Jonathon and a man who runs a video-blog (Lengthyournarther on YouTube, but let's call him Steve) out to lunch. The wings had something to be desired, and the pizza seemed manufactured, but then again, Western New York sets the bar high in this regard, and I consider myself a connoisseur in this respect. When we got the bill, Steve decided to pay for his share with a 1 troy-ounce silver coin with a buffalo on it. Silver was regarded as acceptable all across Porcfest, but in the town of Lancaster, it wasn't as readily accepted. I, however, do accept Silver as a method of payment, and was more than willing to pay on his behalf for the shiny coin. Gold was also completely acceptable in Agora Valley (one name for the campsite), but neither of these were nearly as popular as Bitcoin. Everything was for sale if you had bitcoin, from guns to poker-chips to sex. There was a bitcoin ATM machine, and bitcoin stickers, and bitcoin shirts. I got a free shirt from a 12 year old that ran a booth. He surveyed me on my experience with bitcoin, and provided me a knife, an umbrella, a t-shirt, along with other goodies. It was, by any metric, a completely fair trade for me.
On the last night, I was getting rather tired. Too much alcohol and not enough sleep will get any man, and if you combine sunburn with these you get a man who is quite tuckered out. I attended a few folk-music concerts, saw a man get an entire tent hopping as a one-man band, and saw a large wooden porcupine get lit up in a bonfire. I went to bed early before my eyesockets got too heavy.
When I woke up on Sunday Morning, however, it was all gone. The booths were getting packed up, many people had already left, and people were wandering around cleaning up after themselves. I said goodbye to my friends, and after packing up my things, I began the long ride home.
At first, I was feeling rather somber for the fact that I would have to return to New York, a land of statism and silliness. The thought of leaving New Hampshire, where seat-belts are considered optional, was pretty depressing, but then I remembered some wisdom passed by Dr. Suess.
"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened".
Just over three days I spent in New Hampshire, partying and rallying with all manner of free people. That was enough to render me completely exhausted, but a younger man might want a bit more. For one week, in the tiny town of Lancaster, in Coos (pronounced "Koo-Ah-s") County New Hampshire, a Libertarian society existed. It was amazing due to what I saw, but also the things I didn't. It was liberating with what I could do, and also what I didn't have to do. It was amazing to be accepted as an individual, while being part of a larger group. It gave me a glimpse of what a Libertarian society could be, and hopefully, what such a society will be.
